Looking for someone to help you plan your trip to Northern Europe? I can help you with that!

Hi! My name is Emma. I have worked as a tour leader in Northern Europe for the past nine years. My work has taken me all over Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark – even to Estonia, Svalbard and Iceland! I have led midnight sun tours, northern lights tours, Hurtigruten and Havila tours, highlights and off-the-beaten path tours, and so much more.

When my husband and I want a holiday, I plan a Norwegian road-trip! For the last five years, we have made an effort to explore every tourist road, major highway, and hidden gem that I could find on a map. I can confidently say I’ve driven everywhere in Norway (check out my map here). 

I love Northern Europe and am eager to help you plan your trip. It’s why I built The Hidden North by myself as an online travel resource!

For me, what’s most important when visiting here is having an authentic experience. I am focused on providing information about local and off-the-beaten path experiences. In the age of cheap tourism and Instagram tourism, many come here just to take the pictures and go home. What’s important for me is that my travellers go beneath the surface to get a taste of the ‘real’ Scandinavia. And that they go to places beyond the highlights.

Travel Consultation

What does a travel consultation include?

  • One hour call on Google Meets where I get to know you and what you are looking for
  • An interactive travel itinerary with all the notes and suggestions from our chat. 
  • Option to amend the itinerary one time, so it best suits your final trip
  • The itinerary can be loaded onto your devices or printed to take with you
  • Itineraries include transport options, driving routes (with points of interest), things to do (experiences, museums, etc), restaurant recommendations, local foods, hotel recommendations, and tips and tricks
  • I can advise on plans you already have, make suggestions for timing, suggest alternative routes OR we can take it from the beginning and narrow down exactly what you want to do on your trip

Email Consultation

If you don’t wish to have a face-to-face meeting beforehand, simply email me everything I need, and I can put together an itinerary for you based on that. We will then email back and forth making adjustments, so it’s the perfect itinerary at the end!

The cost for an email consultation is 1,600 NOK. Payment is done via a custom link sent through email.
