Hi! My name is Emma. I have worked as a tour leader in Northern Europe for the past nine years. My work has taken me all over Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark – even to Estonia, Svalbard and Iceland! I have led midnight sun tours, northern lights tours, Hurtigruten and Havila tours, highlights and off-the-beaten path tours, and so much more. I love Northern Europe and am eager to help you plan your trip. It’s why I built The Hidden North by myself as an online travel resource!
For me, what’s most important when visiting here is having an authentic experience. I am focused on providing information about local and off-the-beaten path experiences. In the age of cheap tourism and Instagram tourism, many come here just to take the pictures and go home. What’s important for me is that my travellers go beneath the surface to get a taste of the ‘real’ Scandinavia. And that they go to places beyond the highlights.

Video Consultation
If you just want some help or advice, I offer video consultations over Google Meets. The meetings are one hour long and involves us discussing your itinerary and route with my tips and suggestions. I then email you a summary of the meeting with notes, links, and additional resources.
Cost: $150 USD (approx. 1500 NOK)
Itinerary Plan
The itinerary plan comes with the video consultation, but I will also put together a PDF of your itinerary. This itinerary includes historic, modern and practical information for everywhere you are visiting (with photos, links and resources) and will be perfect for any trip to Northern Europe!
Less than 5 days: 3000 NOK
5-14 days: 4000 NOK
