Nice to meet you, I'm Emma
I am a professional tour guide and travel writer based in Bergen, Norway, originally hailing from Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. I moved to Norway over nine years ago and have since immersed myself in the local tourism industry, sharing my passion for the region’s history and culture.
In 2020, I launched The Hidden North, an online travel guide dedicated to exploring the unique and lesser-known aspects of Northern Europe. Through this platform, I provide travelers with curated road-trip guides, self-guided walking tours, and personalized travel ideas to help them discover authentic, off-the-beaten-path destinations.
I also own I Love Bergen, a company that offers engaging walking tours in Bergen. Drawing on my extensive experience and love for the city, I strive to give visitors an insider’s view of Bergen’s history, culture, and everyday life.
In addition to guiding, I frequently share my journey as an expatriate in Norway, shedding light on the nuances of Norwegian culture. My story has been featured in various publications, including The Norwegian American.
